A teacher turned reporter. My life turned upside down three years ago. From chasing down a serial arsonist in the middle of the night to battling 70mph winds in Superstorm Sandy, the structured routine behind the walls of a classroom quickly became a whirlwind of breaking news. Switching careers was the best decision I have ever made. For the past two and a half years, I have been covering everything from crime to consumer news, to politics and sports on the Eastern Shore of Delaware, Maryland and Virginia. Anchoring on the weekends and chasing down leads during the week, is a job that has challenged me, exhilarated me, and humbled me. I have learned to cover breaking news without hesitation, think on my feet when thrown into unfamiliar territory, and expand my creativity and love for story-telling.
